Guía de Recursos y ServiciosJune 2008 - A Spanish-language version of the Champaign County Community Resource Guide in Spanish. The updating and translating of this resource directory is a project of the Service Providers for Latino Families (SELF) committee of the Latino Partnership. This quick reference guide lists a variety of resources including support services and educational programs for families with young children in Champaign County. Report on Senior IssuesIn September 2007, The Carle Foundation brought together a focus group to discuss senior issues with specific emphasis on healthcare, poverty, unmet needs, and gaps in service. [Download Senior Issues Focus Group Report (PDF, 200K).]Most participants are employed by human care agencies which have services for seniors, and some are employed by a variety of health organizations. Topics discussed included identification and opinions about the perceived most profound problems facing seniors, those specifically related to poor seniors, health-related issues, and the different concerns faced by "younger" seniors, 50-64 years of age, and "older" seniors, 65 years and over. Specific subjects also included gaps and unmet senior needs and stumbling blocks related to solving these needs.
Community Resource Guide 2007The Community Resource Guide is a collaborative project of the United Way of Champaign County Success By 6® EduCare/Early Literacy Work Group, The Urbana Free Library, Champaign Public Library, Champaign County Public Health Department and Champaign-Urbana Public Health District. Senior GuideThe Champaign County Senior Guide (607K, PDF) is a resource book to help seniors, family members and professionals identify options for assistance and support, whether it be emergency numbers, in-home service, financial management, advance directives, or meal management.
