Updated HelpBook Online
June 2010 – The HelpBook Online is a comprehensive directory of human and social services in Champaign County, Illinois maintained by First Call for Help at Family Service.
The online version of the HelpBook expands considerably on the print version, covering over 550 programs. In addition to program description, location and phone, the HelpBook Online program listings include Website, email, operating agency, person in charge, hours, eligibility, fee, intake process, program licenses, staff qualifications, service area and handicap accessibility.
The HelpBook Online is indexed by keywords, provides an alphabetical index of programs, and is also searchable by free keyword search.
Senior Calendar and Mini-Guide
May 2010 — The Senior Calendar (PDF) provides information on local activities that relate to seniors. The Senior Mini-Guide (PDF) is designed to help seniors identify options for assistance and support in Champaign County, Illinois, whether it be emergency numbers, in home services, financial management, advance directives, or meal management. Community Media Directory 2010
February 2010 — An updated version of the Community Media Directory is now available for download as a printable PDF.The Community Media Directory provides detailed contact information for area media outlets and is designed for non-profits looking to place PSAs and community announcements.
The Community Media Directory was originally a community service project of the Media Committee of the Human Services Council of Champaign County; revisions and substantive additions by The Carle Foundation Public Relations Department. The information is not restricted in any way. Please feel free to copy and disseminate as needed.
2009 Help Books Hot Off the Press
Family Service collaborated with the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District and United Way of Champaign County to improve this community resource guide for human and social services in Champaign County. The alphabetical listing (in larger font) has returned in addition to the comprehensive category index.
Features include:
- Government-at-a-Glance lists area offices of local, state, and federal agencies
- A comprehensive food pantry listing gives all the details including eligibility and services provided for local resources.
- Websites are listed in a larger font with more white space on multiple pages for reading ease
- Service descriptions are written in an easier-to-read 2 column/page format

Online Resources for Central Illinois
October 2009 — Central Illinois Community Connect offers links to the following human services: food, shelter, healthcare, substance abuse, mental health, housing, legal and senior services for Sangamon and eight contiguous counties in Central Illinois. Email assistance (72-hour turnaround) is available for people seeking services.
