About Us
Goals
HelpSource provides a centralized guide to human services in East Central Illiois. The site is actively maintained and updated whenever new information becomes available. Its primary focus is on Champaign County but it covers 18 counties in East Central Illinois.
Brief History
The HelpSource Consortium grew out of a widely recognized need for a centralized online system that would provide easy, fast, 24-hour access to information about human services in East Central Illinois. By coming together in 1998 under the leadership of The Carle Foundation, the member agencies and organizations are working in cooperation with the Prairienet Community Network to create and maintain HelpSource as the most comprehensive, online reference guide for use by human services, healthcare providers, and residents of East Central Illinois and West Central Indiana. HelpSource Affiliates receive information technology consulting, training, and technical support from the HelpSource Consortium.
